Clarehall halting site: JCB and tow trucks swoop in knocking premises and removing cars during Garda operation

A number of cars have been removed and part of a building has been knocked by a JCB at a halting site in North Dublin after Gardai launched an operation this morning.

As many as four Garda vans alongside a dozen officers and removal vehicles, including a digger, arrived at the site near Belcamp Lane across from Clarehall Shopping Centre this morning.

One local man, who has lived on the site his whole life, told Dublin Live that officers arrived at the site at around 8:30am.

He said the residents were shocked to see the Gardai, and they weren't told anything about the operation.

A large number of Gardai have been at the scene for several hours and are currently blocking off the area.

A Garda spokeswoman confirmed there was "an ongoing operation at this time".

Dublin Live have contacted An Garda Siochana for additional comment.
