A Clare woman has issued a warning after three men allegedly attempted to abduct her 15-year-old daughter.
Kerrie Finucane from Kilmihil told how they approached her daughter Sophie as she was walking up the Cree/Cahermurphy Road in west Clare at 6.30pm on Sunday evening.
She said: "Three men pulled up beside her in a dark car with tinted windows, and asked her to get in.
"They said they would bring her for a spin, then bring her home and that they wouldn't hurt her.
"She said no but then they grabbed her wrist and tried to pull her into the car. She screamed and they jumped back into the car and drove off."
Kerrie told RSVP Live that she has reported the incident to local Gardaí , who are investigating it.
"I've reported it to the guards and they have been great," she said.
"They are taking this very seriously and keeping me updated.
"But I wanted to share what happened as the more people who know, the better. Another child might not be so lucky."
The worried mum said the incident was a "shock" but said her daughter is doing much better now.
A Facebook post she wrote warning people about what happened has since been shared over 700 times.
