Clare will be without Ian Galvin, Jamie Shanahan and Conor McGrath for the summer.
It’s a blow to the Banner to lose the trio ahead of the Munster SHC, in particular Galvin who was influential in the run to the All-Ireland semi-finals last year.
“Jamie had an operation on his back two weeks ago so he is definitely out,” said Clare joint manager Gerry O’Connor.
“Conor had a operation on his shoulder after Christmas and Ian had an injury on his arm a couple of weeks ago so he’s out.
“It’s a significant loss but it has given a chance to the likes of Diarmuid Ryan and Shane Golden. That’s the nature of sport, one guy gets injured and another get the chance to show what he can do.”
