Clapham Common station stabbing: Man in 40s killed in daylight street attack

A man in his 40s has been stabbed to death in broad daylight outside a London Tube station - with witnesses claiming he had been involved in a car crash moments earlier.

Police have sealed off the streets around Clapham Common station where the knife attack took place as they comb the area for evidence and try and piece together what happened.

The 999 phone call was made to emergency services just after 2.30pm.

The man was found with stab wounds and paramedics battled in vain to save his life, but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Photos and video in the aftermath of the murder show dozens of officers and paramedics surrounded by shocked bystanders as they watch the dying man being treated on the ground.

One distressed woman can be heard sobbing and screaming as she pleads: "What is going on in this country? Our children are dying every day."
