Clapham stabbing: Teenager, 17, in court accused of murdering student Malcolm Mide-Madariol with zombie knife

Victim: Malcolm Mide-Madariola

A teenager has appeared at the Old Bailey accused of murdering a 17-year-old boy who was stabbed to death with a zombie knife.

The 17-year-old defendant allegedly killed student Malcolm Mide-Madariola around 20 minutes after he left college for the day.

The victim died in hospital after he was stabbed repeatedly outside Clapham South Tube station in London on Friday November 2.

He had suffered three stab wounds, with one piercing his heart.

The alleged murder weapon was said to be a blade, commonly known as a Zombie killer knife.

The defendant appeared at the Old Bailey via video link from Cookham Wood Young Offenders Institute in Kent, where he is being held in custody.

He spoke only to confirm his identity and described his nationality as "black British".

Malcolm's parents sat in court as judge Anthony Bate set a provisional three-week trial for April 29 and a plea hearing on February 1.

The court heard a second teenager, 18-year-old Treynae Campbell, of Sydenham, south-east London, has also been charged with the murder.

He is due to appear at the Old Bailey next Tuesday.
