Once again, the people of the North East have shown their support for the NHS and for other care workers keeping us safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Thousands came to their doorsteps, windows and balconies to clap, cheer, and even bang on pots as a show of thanks for the region's healthcare workers.
Meanwhile, landmarks across the region, including Gatehead's Millenium Bridge, Sunderland's Penshaw Monument and Newcastle's Civic Centre were lit up in blue as a mark of respect to our healthcare service and its workers.
Outside hospitals across the region, police cars and emergency vehicles lit up their blue lights in a further display of thanks.
ChronicleLive asked some NHS workers what the now weekly display means to them.
Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital nurse Ameily Harris said: "It's really nice to be appreciated: everyone in my trust absolutely loves their job and that's why we do it but it's nice to see people appreciating it."
South Tyneside Hospital junior doctor George Severs said: "Setting off for my night shift at 8pm tonight it actually gave me a real boost. Thank you so much to everyone who clapped, it means a lot."
Community nursery nurse Tina Pitchford, who works for Sunderland and South Tyneside Hospitals Trust, added: "It makes me quite emotional, to be honest. It's nice to be appreciated and recognised for the job we do every day.
"No one does this job for the recognition, it's for the love of of the children and families we help, but it is nice.
"And it's for all key workers, as well, not just the NHS, and especially carers: I've worked as a carer in the past and I know what they're going through at the moment."
