People across the North East once again joined in with a Clap for Carers tribute, applauding the incredible key workers for their enormous efforts during the coronavirus crisis.
Thousands came to their doorsteps, windows and balconies to clap, cheer, and even bang on pots as a show their appreciation for all NHS workers who are keeping the country running following the Covid-19 outbreak.

At North Tyneside General Hospital, dozens of health workers took time out of their busy schedules to applaud those dedicated frontline workers.
In Seaham, police cars and emergency vehicles lit up their blue lights and sounded their sirens at The Green in a further display of gratitude.
Transport workers at Haymarket Station and Gateshead Interchange also showed their appreciation by sounding their alarms while staff united in applauding the heroic efforts of our health workers.
On Thursday, the number of coronavirus-related hospital deaths in the UK rose by 616 to 18,738.
It comes after coronavirus testing was expanded to include "all essential workers" in England and those in their household.

Clap for our Carers creator, Annemarie Plas, first had the idea after seeing footage of a similar tribute in the Netherlands.
She used social media to spread word of the campaign, with millions of people across the country eventually participating in the first event on March 26.
Since then, the UK continues to clap at 8pm every Thursday throughout the crisis to show continued support for the people working under extremely difficult circumstances.
