Clan postpone festive home fixtures due to coronavirus crowd restrictions

Glasgow Clan fans have been dealt a blow after seeing their club’s home fixtures put on ice.

The Braehead Arena outfit were due to welcome Belfast Giants to Renfrewshire last night for a hotly-anticipated rematch following the Northern Ireland side’s 5-1 Boxing Day win over Malcolm Cameron’s men.

Clan were then set to welcome Fife Flyers to Braehead on New Year’s Eve, but both games have been postponed due to coronavirus restrictions which have capped capacity at just 500.

A Clan spokesman explained: “These highly anticipated fixtures can be played in front of fans once the three week restriction ends.

“A decision on the status of our other home fixtures will be made as soon as the compensation package from the Scottish Government has been.
