Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is still coming to Switch 2 in 2026, says leaker who called Ocarina of Time and Star Fox remakes

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

A prominent industry leaker says he expects Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 some time this year.

If you're a Nintendo fan who keeps up to date with rumors and speculation, you no doubt know who Nate The Hate is, after he accurately predicted which random day the Switch 2 would be revealed. But if you weren't familiar with the leaker before, he recently raised his notoriety with a surge of info about upcoming Switch 2 games – revealing Star Fox, the Ocarina of Time remake, and the new Switch Sports release months ago.

Earlier this year, Nate the Hate also said he expects to see 2025's Game of the Year winner Expedition 33 (not 2025's actual game of the year, Donkey Kong Bananza) arrive on Switch 2. And while Sandfall Interactive's J'RPG didn't show up during the latest Nintendo Direct, Nate also predicted Sega and Atlus' Metaphor ReFantazio would arrive on Switch 2 – and this was announced.

When asked after the show about a Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Switch port, Nate the Hate responded, "It'll come to SW2 this year." To his credit, Sandfall CEO Guillaume Broche did speak about the possibility of a Switch 2 port ahead of the console's release last year.

Given that Capcom, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, and Ubisoft have all shown that the likes of Resident Evil Requiem, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Elden Ring, and Assassin's Creed Shadows can work well on Nintendo's handheld, it doesn't feel like a stretch to assume Clair Obscur could be on the way, too. This is especially true now that the Switch 2 has proven to be a big success in its first year on the market, having sold 17 million consoles in seven months, exceeding expectations.

"It's a pure skill issue": Clair Obscur Expedition 33 head says the RPG's notorious volleyball minigame is "easy," then proves it on stage.
