Residents have been left fuming after claiming golfers had been using residential roads as "drag strips".
Locals in Ainsdale have claimed some members of Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club have been speeding up and down Bradshaw's Lane.
One resident claims to have seen drivers going at "easily" 50mph on what is a 20mph road.

The issue was raised in a local Facebook group, with people having their say on the issue.
The man who first took to the group to put his opinion across told the ECHO : "Yes it's people coming out of Southport and Ainsdale golf course on Bradshaw's Lane, and using it like a drag strip to the main road.
"Cars are easily reaching 50 mph and a child will end up being killed if nothing is done. A few weeks back my daughter was nearly hit [while] she was crossing the road.
"I'm disabled and use crutches and can't move as quick and I regularly nearly get hit trying to cross the road.
"That is a problem I've encountered, on the [Facebook] group others are agreeing about the speed of drivers coming out of there.
"I can see the golf club entrance from my home, yes they all come flying out of there."
The golf club says it is seeking to address the situation.
In response to the claims, Ainsdale and Southport Golf Club told the ECHO: " The Club are fully aware of the issues raised by the local residents in Bradshaw's Lane regarding the speed limit.
"We are continually communicating to our membership and visitors to be mindful of the speed limit and will continually endeavour to reiterate this.
"We are in the process of obtaining new signage to be placed around the entrance and exit of the Club’s car park to reiterate this message to everyone."
A local councillor is also monitoring the situation.
Ainsdale councillor Lynne Thompson told the ECHO: " I am aware of speeding issues affecting Bradshaw's Lane/Berwick Avenue
"I have raised similar issues (at a different location) with the council before and managed to get some repeater signs.
"However in this instance the council state 'Bradshaw’s Lane, is only 180 metres long and there are already repeater signs halfway along the road that captures traffic from Bradshaw’s Lane, the close, Berwick Avenue and the golf course.
"'Bradshaw’s Lane has a 20mph speed limit but it is not within a 20mph zone therefore the signs we are able to put on the highway are governed by set regulations. We can only have repeater signs 250 metres apart, so the back to back signs in place meet those regulations whilst covering traffic traveling along this road.
"I am pleased to note action taken by [Southport and] Ainsdale Golf Club, reminding members of their responsibilities whilst entering and exiting via Bradshaw's Lane.
"I will be requesting some speed monitoring to reinforce the message. I am also concerned current parking congestion at Bradshaw's Lane/Berwick Avenue could worsen significantly if the proposal for cycle lanes along Liverpool Road, Ainsdale is agreed."
