Allegations over the Saudi-led Arab coalition’s operation in Yemen’s Saada region on Thursday will be referred to the to the Joint Incidents Assessment Team (JIAT) for investigation, a senior official in the alliance revealed on Friday.
The Joint Forces Command has seen media reports, including claims by some relief organizations in Yemen about a coalition operation in Saada in which a bus was allegedly subject to collateral damage, said the official according to the Saudi Press Agency.
JIAT will carry out its assessment of the procedures and conditions of the said operation and announce the results expeditiously, he stressed.
He underscored the longstanding commitment of the coalition to investigate all incidents that prompt errors and international law violations, including holding the relevant parties accountable, including providing assistance.
The official added that the coalition will, as always, exert all efforts to safeguard civilians.
