CitySprint opens South Yorkshire hub creating 20 new jobs

Same day distribution company CitySprint has opened a new South Yorkshire service centre, with 20 new couriers being sought.

The new hub in Aspen Court, Rotherham, will take the load off Leeds and Nottingham bases as demand increases for the courier service.

CitySprint, which also has a healthcare logistics arm, will now also be better placed to carry out vital work for Sheffield Children’s Hospital and BMI Thornbury Hospital.

Mark Phillipson, regional manager at CitySprint, said: “We are constantly looking for ways to evolve our offering in order to best serve our customers in South Yorkshire. Opening this new Sheffield Service Centre will enable us to do just this — helping us to meet demand and continue to deliver a first-class service to local businesses, no matter their size or the sector they operate in.”

Surrounding areas of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, Scunthorpe, Worksop and Chesterfield will also be served by a team of more than 60 couriers, with a fleet comprising a range of vehicles — including cars, small and large vans, transits and an e-van.

The site — which will operate 24/7, 365 days a year — also offers UK overnight delivery, international delivery and warehousing, including pick and pack solutions.
