City set to benefit from huge donation through Liverpool FC CEO and daughter

Liverpool FC’s CEO Peter Moore's foundation has pledged to donate a huge amount of money to help the city through difficult times of social isolation.

In recent weeks, concerns have been raised about the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on the UK's mental health.

But now, The Peter Moore Foundation h as launched an initiative to spread kindness and positivity with words of hope using social media.

With every post shared, the Peter Moore Foundation will donate 10p to James’ Place, a male suicide prevention centre launched in Liverpool in 2018.

The foundation is hoping to donate up to £10,000 by achieving its goal of reaching 100,000 shares on Instagram and Twitter.

This social media initiative was created by Peter's youngest daughter, Alexandra, who was inspired by tragic loss in her own life to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention.

Through its Instagram and Twitter profiles, posts of encouragement, such as 'you are worthy' will be spread along its feed for users to pick, share and send to their friends and family, or those in need.

James’ Place was founded by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley to support men in suicidal crises, following the death of their son, James.

A spokesperson for Peter Moore Foundation said: " Beginning Friday, May 22 we are spanning a weekend long initiative to make the last days of mental health awareness week impactful.

" Both organisations, which are focused on serving Merseyside, are resolute in their commitment to spread kindness and hope to those struggling locally, as well as internationally, particularly during these unsettling times."
