City of OKC Twitter account sends Kevin Durant message after injury

On Monday night, the basketball world was stunned when Kevin Durant was forced to leave Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals after he reaggravated his right calf, which he had previously injured in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Houston Rockets. The same injury kept him out of the Western Conference Finals against the Portland Trail Blazers, though the Golden State Warriors made quick work of the series.

But with the Warriors facing elimination down 3-1 in the NBA Finals, Durant came back, though it appears too quickly. Given the nature of the injury, there are now concerns it’s gone beyond a calf injury and developed into an Achilles problem. This could jeopardize the ex-Thunder forward’s 2019-20 season and beyond.

As members of the NBA world shared their shock over the news, the official Twitter account for the City of Oklahoma City sent the former Thunder superstar well wishes, accompanied with a photo displaying Durant giving back to the community:
