Cassandra Clare’s City of Bones was the first YA book I have read and I instantly got hooked in to the book and, later on, the series!
Clary Fray is a character who I have loved for many, many years. In this book, her curiosity of the new world she has entered into is infectious and helped me as a reader to become more and more excited to continue reading.
Jace Lightwood is your typical bad boy who has a secret affectionate side, a side in which he sometimes shows Clary, letting the readers know that he’s falling in love with her.
Simon Lewis... He’s Clary’s best friend and I love him. He’s a nerdy guy, who manages (somehow!) to turn himself into a rat, making it one of the most memorable scenes in the book. Simon is a best friend who has potential to become a hero and shows loyalty to Clary, something I look for in a friend myself, making thier friendship relatable.
The book itself was filled with action. From the first couple of pages to the last, there was quite a lot of action scenes; the fighting scenes I enjoyed reading especially. It made me imagine I was there, watching from the sidelines, enjoying the fights that were in front of me.
