City Ground warning sent to Brentford players ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Brentford defender Ben Mee has said that a "bouncing" City Ground will make it a difficult place for his team to play at this weekend, as Forest look to move off the bottom of the table.

Both of Forest’s two wins so far this campaign have come at the City Ground, with Steve Cooper’s men spurred on by the fans in two memorable victories over West Ham United and Liverpool. Both games saw the Reds put on a rearguard display in the closing minutes to see out narrow one-goal wins.

After a disappointing 5-0 loss away at Arsenal in their last outing, Forest are back in front of their home fans again this weekend. The team welcome Brentford to the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking following his side’s 1-1 draw against Wolves in their last outing, experiences Bees defender Mee is under no illusions as to what the atmosphere will be like. He has, however, encouraged his teammates to use the opportunity to turn around their form.

“We've got a tough away game at Forest,” he said, via the club’s official website. “It's a place where we can go and try and get our form right. It'll be bouncing there, they get right behind their team so it's going to be a difficult place to go.”

Brentford’s last two away games have seen them lose by four goals. A 5-1 defeat against Newcastle last month was followed by a 4-0 loss vs Aston Villa less than two weeks ago. The Bees are yet to pick up a win away from home this season, but Mee has hinted that the club could learn from their last away trip.

“It’s our away form that we need to get right,” he added. “We were on the end of a difficult defeat last weekend, we were playing Aston Villa at a time when they’d just gotten rid of the manager, the fans were up and we needed to deal with that a bit better.”
