City clean up begins after Liverpool fans celebrate historic title win through the night

Clean up operations have begun this morning after thousands of fans celebrated Liverpool's triumphant Premier League win.

Liverpool turned red last night after LFC won its first Premier League in 30 years as Manchester City succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea.

Streets outside of Anfield and the bombed out church were lined with fans passionately singing and celebrating the historic night.

Fireworks could also be heard across the city as our famous landmarks turned red to mark the special occasion.

And this morning, after the joyous celebrations, efforts to clean up were in full swing.

An image was shared by the council showing rubbish strewn across the road, as it pleaded for members of the public to take their rubbish home with them.

The local authority wrote: "These were the sights this morning as our street cleaning teams are still hard at work getting the city tidy again following the #LFC win.

"Please help us all by taking any rubbish with you, or pop it in a bin on your way home - whenever you're outside and wherever you are."

Another image was shared of clean streets after, as council employees were thanked for clearing the rubbish.

The council added: "Thank you to our teams who have got the streets looking clean and tidy.

"We can still have a good time whilst respecting our streets, parks and the city we live in - please pop it in the bin or take it home!"

Incredible pictures showed fans outside of Anfield last night as people gathered to celebrate.

Videos of worldwide celebrations were all over social media last night, including from Jurgen Klopp, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah.
