City centre pub to reopen this weekend following £300k makeover

A city centre pub has unveiled its new look following a considerable makeover.

The Merchant, found on the corner of West George Street and Renfield Street, is set to reopen following a massive £300,000 investment.

The venue has undergone a complete overhaul and been transformed into a contemporary pub with all new decor.

Having shut its doors on November 4, the pub has revamped its menu to match the new interior - and we can't wait to see what they are serving up.

Luckily, we won’t have long to wait to long - because The Merchant reopens tomorrow (Friday, November 21).

Steven Samson, general manager of The Merchant, said: “The pub is now completely different to the previous design, and we are looking forward to opening the doors to see what everyone thinks of the venue’s new look.

"Opening just in time for the Hamilton vs Rangers match on Sunday 24 November, we are sure that The Merchant will fast become known as the perfect venue to watch the sport, grab a bite to eat and even for the night out experience.”

We’ll see you there for a pint to toast The Merchant’s new look!
