City centre bar to host Glasgow's first vegan garden party

A city centre bar is set to host Glasgow's first ever vegan garden party this spring.

On Sunday, March 15, West Nile Street's Cùl Cùil will bring 'something completely different from anything else in the city', including 'dramatic greenery', a 'twinkly lit garden winter patio', and a special plant-based meat-free Tex Mex menu.

Organisers say: "On Sunday, March 15th, Cùl Cùil invites you to join us for Glasgow’s first vegan garden party.

"This seasonal spectacle offers something completely different from anything else in the city!

"Our 'Oot The Back' area is split over a raised wood terrace amongst plenty of ivies, flowering shrubs, jasmine, honeysuckle and other dramatic greenery. From above on the tiered mezzanine spot, you’ve got a gallery view over a twinkly lit winter garden patio, for when day turns into night.

"The covered city centre garden space has just been extended across the whole courtyard - the glasshouse has also doubled in size too, and with the windows open wide into our fully landscaped garden spectacle, it really could be 'outside you are in'."

The team behind Cul Cuil have revealed their 'culinary delights' including the Cuil vegan burger with hand-cut chips, vegan chilli with flatbread, mini mac and cheese with polenta fries. Meanwhile margarita cocktails or booze-free alternatives are included in the ticket price, while there will be vegan-friendly beers on offer.

UPDATE: This event has been cancelled.

The staff at Cul Cuil say: "Seeing as we're out the loop, and often oblivious to such events - unfortunately, due to a significant Glasgow football match taking place we've had to cancel next weekend's Vegan Garden party on Sunday 15th March.

"Sadly, due to availability and a busy schedule over the coming weeks and months, we've been unable to find a rescheduled date.

"All current ticket holders will be notified and refunded right away.

"We hope we can make this up to you soon. Thanks for your understanding."
