City centre bar 'Jurgens Bierhaus' is opening in former Tom Halls Tavern dedicated to Liverpool FC

A bar dedicated to Liverpool Football Club is opening in the city centre.

Jurgens Bierhaus is set to open later this month in the site which was previously home to Tom Halls Tavern.

Tom Hall's Tavern closed in June after going into going into liquidation. The venue on the Strand reopened in 2016 after a £400,000 refurbishment brought it back to life after it lay empty for three decades.

The new bar now aims to attract Liverpool fans here in the city as well as tourists coming over to watch a game or for a holiday.

The site is currently being refurbished and will be opened after the international football break - signage went up this afternoon outside the building too.

A spokesperson for Jurgens Bierhaus said: "We are coming to the end of our refurbishment at the site and look forward to opening in the heart of the Liverpool Business District.

"The site will be a real go to venue for Liverpool FC fans and tourists alike."
