Westminster favourite the Cinnamon Club is celebrating 25 years by revisiting old dishes from 2001, with prices to match.
The Indian restaurant, founded by chef Vivek Singh in 2001 and long a favourite of politicians who work nearby, is to put on starters for as little as £5 and main courses for as low as £10.
Though there’s always a set lunch available for £29 for two courses, a la carte starters and mains are usually more than double the 2001 prices.
Singh announced plans to take the retro menu on a tour of his restaurants, making it available at the more casual branches within the Cinnamon Collection, including sites in Battersea, Richmond, and the City of London.
The tour follows a sell-out February run at the flagship restaurant in Westminster and will finish there in August. Dishes include tandoori chicken, mussels in tomato and curry leaf broth, salmon with dill, mustard and cashew sauce, and pork chop vindaloo.
“When we created the retro menu at The Cinnamon Club, the response from guests was incredible,” Singh said.
“Many of these dishes hold a special place in our story, and taking the menu on tour felt like the perfect way to share that experience with the wider community across London.”
Restaurants marking anniversaries by bringing back their original menus is an increasingly common theme in London today.
In 2024, St John celebrated its 30th anniversary by briefly returning to its 1994 menu, while Rick Stein did similarly to mark his 50th anniversary. It meant customers could buy his famous shellfish soup for just 50p, and grilled lobster for £2.80.
In 2025, Bao went back to 2015 prices after a decade in the business, while Forest Hill restaurant Babur journeyed back 40 years and sold onion bhajis — some of the best in town, by the way — for 85p a portion.
