Cineworld will maintain social distancing in their cinemas

Cinema chain Cineworld has announced they will maintain social distancing in all their auditoriums.

When guests are watching a film, one seat will be left empty between them to maintain a social distance.

They will also maintain hand sanitiser stations, deep cleaning, plastic till screens and more.

Since Monday this week, lockdown restrictions had been eased by the government despite a steady increase in coronavirus cases in England.

Despite this, Cineworld said it is focusing on the safety of their guests and have stated they’ve received a positive reaction on Twitter and Facebook.

One user replied: “Brilliant news, a big well done and thank you for doing the right thing.”

“With so many praising ‘Freedom Day’ it’s nice to see a company still taking precautions,” another user added.

With the record-breaking heatwave soaring, Cineworld is offering air conditioning to keep customers cool while they enjoy upcoming releases.

One user replied: “You had me at air-con. Can I stay overnight?”

Cineworld, unfortunately, doesn’t offer overnight stays but can provide visitors with ICEE frozen drinks, ice creams or milkshakes from Baskin Robbins.

Iced coffees from their in-house Starbucks venues available at 38 locations can also keep you cool while enjoying your film.

Their nationwide 4DX extreme cinema screenings feature light-water sprays, cooling winds, and blasts of air that will give film lovers some much-needed relief from the blistering heat.

While face coverings in England are no longer mandatory, customers will be encouraged to wear a face mask whereas employees will continue to wear a face covering.

Contact tracing will also stay mandatory where required to keep in line with public health authorities’ Covid-19 tracing schemes.

All employee and customer toilets will be stocked with anti-bacterial soap and employees will stick to strict handwashing guidelines.

Cineworld encourages guests to book tickets in advance via their website or the Cineworld app available of iOS and Android.

Contactless payments are also encouraged with Cineworld’s tills accepting contactless payments up to £45 with Apple Pay and Google Pay having no limit.
