Cineworld confirms its sites will no longer be reopening on July 10

Cineworld has confirmed its reopening plans are delayed with cinemas no longer opening again on July 10.

Earlier this month, Cineworld announced a number of its sites including its Speke branch would be reopening on Friday, July 10.

In an update posted to its website, Cineworld said the date change is due to recent changes with upcoming film releases and a new date of July 31 has been set - although this is subject to change.

Films scheduled to be shown once cinemas are reopened include Mulan, Tenet, A Quiet Place Part II and No Time To Die.

Back in 2018, Cineworld opened a huge site in Speke which is home to 11 screens - including one super-screen, which is the largest on offer from the cinema.

Inside there is also a Starbucks cafe, Baskin Robbins ice cream counter and Pick and Mix section.

Although when the site does reopen there will be a number of major changes as strict safety measures will be in place at Speke and all Cineworld Cinemas.

Measures include online bookings, with all tickets bookable on its website. When booking Cineworld says its system has been updated to allow families to sit together whilst still ensuring a two metre distance is kept between them and others.

Hand sanitising stations will be spread around all of its venues and there will be staggered film start times to avoid large crowds arriving at the same time.
