Cinema Under The Stars coming to Alnwick with The Greatest Showman and Bohemian Rhapsody

While we can't always guarantee glorious weather for outdoor events in the North East (with last weekend being a prime example!) fingers crossed for no rain at the end of the month as Alnwick Castle hosts a brilliant al fresco movie double header.

The castle will be offering more than its usual kind of magic over the evenings of August 24 and 25.
In Cinema under the Stars, two fabulous, smash hit musical films will be screened outdoors - Bohemian Rhapsody on the Saturday evening - and The Greatest Showman on the Sunday evening.
Under the Alnwick skies, join friends and family for sing-along to all the legendary hit songs from the fantastic films - as loud as you want - with the help of on-screen lyrics for the The Greatest Showman as well!
And visitors in fancy dress are particularly welcome!

Bohemian Rhapsody became a box office smash around the world earlier this year.

It is the action-packed, captivating story of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and convention to become one of history's most beloved entertainers.

The film follows Queen's rise to the top, their revolutionary music and Freddie's solo career, as well as the band's reunion and their performance at Live Aid in 1985. Queen's hit songs feature throughout.

The Greatest Showman is the smash hit film musical that people can't stop singing. Even if you haven't seen the film before you're bound to recognise the catchy songs.

Starring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron and Zandaya, it is inspired by the figure of P. T. Barnum, a 19th century American showman.

Bohemian Rhapsody

The Greatest Showman celebrates the birth of show business as we know it and tells the tale of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.

Gates to the arena open at 6.30pm and the films will start shortly after sunset on both evenings. Ba drinks, food and snacks are available, and music will be played before the performance.

Alcohol and glass are prohibited from being brought onsite.

How to get tickets

Tickets are priced from £16.16 – £22.84 and are available from the Alnwick Castle website.

Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. The event will go ahead if it's raining but Alnwick Castle is hoping for a nice dry night. No seating is provided unless guests have VIP tickets. No dogs are allowed.
