Cinema-goers are being taken to a secret camp to watch The Blair Witch Project in a forest

It has been 20 years since the The Blair Witch Project was released.

Shot on handheld cameras, the faux-documentary is about three US film students who go camping in the woods to make a real documentary about some age-old hauntings.

To mark the occasion, a cinema is bringing the film to the big screen in the middle of a forest.

Buses will take you to a secret camp in the woods where there will be a campfire, food and drinks and a forest cinema.

It is not an overnight event, but organisers say those attending can bring a small tent "for shelter, atmosphere and authenticity."

It is being organised by Cinema & Co in Swansea, an independent cinema, coffee shop and art space.

They're known for their relaxed vibe, with cosy sofas that they designed and made themselves from shipping pallets and cushions.

The film will be shown on Saturday, October 26 at an undisclosed location in Gower.

The Blair Witch Project was a divisive film in 1999 but you cannot deny the psychological thriller is like no other.

The film opens with this chilling introduction: "In October of 1994, three student filmmakers disappeared in the woods near Burkittsville, Maryland while shooting a documentary. A year later their footage was found."

That perfectly sets the scene for the psychological chiller that follows

The event is for those aged 15 and over. Tickets go on sale on Friday, September 27 at 7pm. Visit eventbrite.co.uk for tickets and more information.
