Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow will have surgery this week

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will have surgery to repair his injured left knee soon and will do so out on the west coast, per multiple people within the organization.

Defensive end Sam Hubbard told reporters he didn’t know the exact time of the surgery, but that Burrow will travel across the country for it.

ESPN’s Ben Baby grabbed the quote:

“Joe’s hanging in there. He’s on his way to (the) West Coast to get the surgery and start his path to recovery. Mentally, he’s staying up. My heart goes out to him as his surgery approaches and his recovery process begins.”

Zac Taylor later confirmed the news with reporters, though he doesn’t have an ETA on when Burrow might get back to Cincinnati:

That puts Burrow slightly ahead of schedule in terms of going under the knife to get things repaired. We’ll know more about the severity and finalized timetable once the work is done.

Keep in might tight end C.J. Uzomah already gave us a behind-the-scenes look at Burrow’s comeback bid, which included the star quarterback shocking some of his trainers with his pain tolerance.
