Cinch, the fast growing online car used car marketplace, has inked a deal for a new HQ in King’s Cross and praised the capital as an attractive place for recruitment.

The company, seen as a rival to Cazoo, is part of WeBuyAnyCar owner Constellation Automotive Group, which recently raised £1 billion to help Cinch grow across the UK and Europe.

Cinch today said it has signed for 20,440 square feet of office space at newly refurbished Fjord Building.

It plans to move there in September and have 120 employees initially use the office with the potential for more as the group expands.

Avril Palmer-Baunack, executive chairman of Constellation Automotive Group, said: “Although expectations around the future of the workplace continue to evolve, having world-class office facilities and excellent local amenities will play a vital role in shaping the Cinch culture, fostering creative thinking, and accelerating the incredible breadth of innovation taking place within our business.”

Up until now the company, which launched last year, has been using space at its parent’s Surrey base. Cinch allows customers to part exchange their car and buy used ones fully online and have them delivered straight to their home.

Numerous firms are looking at post-pandemic property plans after more than a year of working from home for staff in some cases. Some companies expect to reduce office size, while many bosses expect to embrace a mixture of home and office working.
