Cider Salon coming to Bristol's Trinity Centre this weekend with 90 varieties

A new festival where you can have your pick of almost 100 ciders is taking place in Bristol this weekend (Saturday, July 2). A little more sophisticated than your average Saturday session on King Street, the event will welcome speciality suppliers to the city to share their drinks, fermenting techniques and cider secrets with punters.

The Cider Salon brings suppliers from across the UK's main cider regions, as well as special guests from the US and Europe, to Bristol. For one day only, you can taste from a selection of 90 bottled ciders, and sip up sophistication from those across the speciality sector.

Taking place in one of Bristol's most iconic venues, tickets cost £30 for entry booked in advance. Some of the most cosmopolitan cider producers will be on hand, including Pét Nat, Méthod Traditionelle, Keeved, Perry, Pommeau, Ice & Fire and Eau de Vie.

The Cider Salon kicks off at 3pm on Saturday July 2, at Bristol's iconic Trinity Centre. The historic community arts centre plays hosts to gigs, talks and special events, and is housed in a Grade II listed building.

An engraved glass is included with entry and ciders will be poured by the producers themselves. Online ticket sales end at noon on the day, and any tickets left over will be £40 on the door for people who have not booked in advance.

Punters can ask questions and learn about terroir, apple varieties and ageing techniques. For fans of The Apple and a lazy afternoon on King Street, this one may be for you.

It will be the culmination of a week of events as part of the festival, with different venues taking part in talks and tastings. The Cider Box in and Beard and Sabre will both be holding 'after parties' once the Trinity Centre tasting comes to an end.
