Ciaran Dickson leaves Rangers as teen joins Queen of the South on loan

Ciaran Dickson has left Rangers on loan until the end of the season to join Queen of the South.

He becomes the fourth Ibrox youngster to sign for the Dumfries outfit this season, with James Maxwell, Rhys Breen and Dapo Mebude already there.

Dickson is highly-rated at Ibrox and made his debut against Falkirk in the Betfred Cup earlier this season, but hasn't played since.

And he's been allowed to head to Palmerston to join the Championship outfit and try and get regular first team football.

Queens are also managed by former Rangers winger Allan Johnston and have been in great form las season as they make a push for the playoffs.

Steven Gerrard handed the 18-year-old a new deal until 2023 in January and Johnston is excited to get him.

He said: “Ciaran clearly has a big future in the game so we are delighted to have him join the squad for the rest of the season.

"He has been in and around the Rangers first team and has been gaining experience but coming on loan with the chance of regular first team football will hopefully benefit to both him as a player and us as a club.

"We have established a good working relationship with Rangers and we are grateful to them for letting the loan deal happen."
