Ciaran Dickson departs Rangers on loan as talented midfielder joins Queen of the South

Rangers have loaned out youngster Ciaran Dickson to Queen of the South for the rest of the season.

The 18-year-old central midfielder was part of the team that won the Alkass Cup in 2019 and recently signed a contract extension to keep him at Ibrox until 2023.

Capped by Scotland up to Under-19 level, he made his first team debut for Rangers in a League Cup match against Falkirk earlier this season.

He will spend the rest of the campaign at Palmerston, taking the number 26 shirt.

Doonhamers manager Allan Johnston said: "Ciaran clearly has a big future in the game so we are delighted to have him join the squad for the rest of the season.

"He has been in and around the Rangers first team and has been gaining experience but coming on loan with the chance of regular first team football will hopefully benefit to both him as a player and us as a club.

"We have established a good working relationship with Rangers and we are grateful to them for letting the loan deal happen."
