Cian Healy has been ruled out for the remainder of the Six Nations championship with a hip injury.
The Ireland loosehead prop now faces a race to be fit for Leinster's Champions Cup quarter-final against Saracens at the start of April.
Veteran Healy limped off in the 25th minute of Ireland's loss to England at Twickenham on Sunday and Dave Kilcoyne is poised to start the final two games of the championship against Italy (March 4) and France (March 11).
The championship takes a break this week but the Ireland squad, having returned from London yesterday afternoon, will recovene on Wednesday afternoon for a two-day camp in Dublin.
That will include an open training session against the Ireland under-20s, who remain on course to win back to back Grand Slams, on Friday at Energia Park. Tickets for the open session are available on ticketmaster.ie.
Leinster's Will Connors, Max Deegan, Dave Kearney, and Luke McGrath, as well as Munster's Chris Farrell and Jack O’Donoghue, have been released back to their respective provinces for PRO14 involvement this weekend.
However the Ulster quartet of Billy Burns, Stuart McCloskey, Jack McGrath and Tom O’Toole will train with Ireland following the postponement of Ulster’s fixture against Benetton over coronavirus fears.
Their provincial skipper Iain Henderson will re-join the squad having missed the trip to England due to the birth of his second child last week.
Will Addison will continue his rehab in Ulster this week following calf problems.
