Cian Cowley looking forward to showcasing his MMA development at Brave 24

SBG Ireland lightweight Cian Cowley is looking to show how far he's come when he faces Maciek Gierszewski at Brave 24 in London later this month.

The Dubliner will face off with his Polish opponent in the co-main event of an exclusive, invite-only black tie event at the Copper Box Arena on July 25th.

And he is hoping to show his development as an MMA fighter in what is his fourth fight in twelve months when he takes on Gierszewski.

Speaking exclusively with Irish Mirror, Cowley said: "I know I am going to put on a serious performance and be a stand-out on the night.

"I'm not really one of these people that says 'I'm going to do this exactly', but I know I'm going to take a lot of what I've learned in the last twelve months and show how much I've grown.

"As an MMA fighter, I'm looking forward to showcasing how much I've come on."

Cowley revealed that this bout marks his third of a four-fight deal with the promotion, and he is looking forward to facing another exciting striker inside the cage.

"The Brave matchmaker knows his stuff and he genuinely just matches fights with his fan's brain knowing what would be an excellent fight.

"He found this guy and thought it would be stylistically a great match; we're both guys who look for the finish and that's what we want to show people.

"This is a proper fight, I'm a fighter's fighter, everybody knows that and I get in there to fight and put on a show, and so does my opponent."

The Irishman will go on second from last at the glamorous event, and admits that he is very excited to perform on such a unique stage.

"The Brave Combat Federation have MMA's best interests at heart and they're willing to go above and beyond to shine a positive light on the sport.

"This event here is a private show, and the idea is to get as many high profile people in a top of the range set-up, with a red carpet, black tie event and put on a good card of fights.

"They want people to witness MMA live but they've been invited now, it's in London, it allows these people to see what the sport is in its purest form.

"They won't have to worry about the crowds of people mobbing them, it's going to get them roped into MMA hopefully and make them fans. It's going to be great for the sport."
