Churches burglarized in Woodlawn: police

Several church burglaries were reported between June 25, 2019 and July 3, 2019 in Woodlawn.

Chicago police are warning churches in the Woodlawn area to make sure their doors and windows are secured following three reported robberies in June and July.

In each incident, two men broke into the churches through the front door or side windows and took property from inside, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The incidents happened June 25 and July 3 in the 6400 block of South Woodlawn Avenue and June 29 in the 6400 block of South Kimbark Avenue at all hours of the day, police said.

Anyone with information about these robberies is asked to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
