Croftfoot Parish is holding the first of its weekly events for people to reconnect with the church and their faith.
Called Refresh, thought of by Rev Robert Silver, it will be held on Friday, April 21, between 2pm and 3.30pm, and will act as a safe space for people to receive prayer.
Church volunteer Allan Tunstall has only reconnected with the church in the last 11 months and admitted that it has changed his life.
He said: “The church has been dying a death in the past few years, the numbers are lower than ever.
“I got involved around 11 months ago as a retiree, and it has changed everything for me. I had never gone for 73 years before this, and I have now found out some new things about myself after a very difficult time in my life.
“We at the church are reaching out to allow people the chance to reconnect.
“We are having our first day tomorrow, and we are just really going to have a go. Even if the numbers are low, it will allow us to treat it as a trial run to perfect it for future Fridays.
“We intend to run it every Friday, so we do urge people to come along otherwise it will fizzle out.”
The day is free, and tea or coffee will also be provided, alongside a chat about what brought you along.
