The Detroit Tigers are falling apart in the AL Central – and now their stadium is, too.
A piece of concrete fell onto a Comerica Park concourse after the Tigers’ 4-2 defeat by the Rangers on Sunday, although fortunately no one was hurt.
Ron Colangelo, the team’s vice president of communications, says stadium operations reported that a piece of a concrete fell at the 100-level concourse. He says the stadium was “pretty clear at the time.”
Colangelo told the Detroit Free Press that officials will look into what caused the concrete to fall. He said they have isolated the area.

The Tigers play at Cincinnati Monday in a makeup of a June 18 game. They return to Comerica on Tuesday for a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels.
Comerica Park is relatively new. Construction began in 1997, and the Tigers’ first season at the ballpark was 2000.
