Alvin Kamara at least got to watch practice Thursday.
The Saints’ star running back, who is on the NFL’s reserve/COVID-19 list but could return for Sunday’s playoff game, participated in practice remotely using a live video feed through which he can hear coach Sean Payton, according to ESPN.
The Bears are preparing as though he’ll play.
“Like coach [Matt Nagy] has said, he’s a generational back,” defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano said Thursday. “He does everything really, really good. You’ve got to have a bunch of eyes on this guy. Obviously, Public Enemy No. 1. And they’ve got a ton of talent on that football team, especially on the offensive side of the ball.”
Wednesday, the Saints designated receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) and return wiz Deonte Harris (neck) to return from injured reserve. Bears special teams coordinator Chris Tabor is concerned about the latter, and believes he’ll play.
“He’s still real dynamic,” he said of Harris. “You watch. I mean … I think every opposing coordinator always holds their breath when the ball is in his hands and hopefully I can breathe at the end of the play — because he is, he’s really good.”
