Chuck E. Cheese's moving to bigger home in Arlington Heights

Nov. 06--Arlington Heights' favorite mouse will soon be moving to a bigger home, with the village's longtime Chuck E. Cheese's restaurant relocating in late December.

The family restaurant and entertainment center will be moving from its longtime site at 955 W. Dundee Road, to the Annex of Arlington shopping center at Rand and Arlington Heights roads.

"It was a standalone building, and I think they just outgrew the space," said Charles Witherington-Perkins, director of planning and community development for the village of Arlington Heights. "The new location has a lot of parking, and customers who are visiting Chuck E. Cheese's will be able to frequent the other stores at the Annex as well."

The relocation will increase the venue's square footage from its current 8,000 square-feet to 13,000 square-feet, Witherington-Perkins said.

Tucked between Petco and hh gregg, the relocated Chuck E. Cheese's will feature a new menu created by fine dining chef Gregory Casale, which includes gluten-free options, said Alexis Linn, a spokeswoman for the Irving, Texas-based restaurant chain.

Linn said folks who haven't visited a Chuck E. Cheese's in the past two years will also be surprised to meet a "modernized" Chuck E. mouse character, as well as a show that has been updated to "enhance the interactive experience."

"We've totally re-vamped the menu, and our guests are sometimes surprised to learn that we make all of our pizza dough by hand, in our kitchens every day, and all of our vegetables are locally sourced, too," Linn said

"There's also a whole bunch of new games for the kids, so that every time our guests come in, they'll have a fresh experience," Linn said.
