Chuck Clark is our ‘Player of the Game’ in Week 3 vs. Chiefs

On a difficult night for the Baltimore Ravens’ secondary, safety Chuck Clark stood out for the right reasons.

Clark put up the best statistical effort of the game as well as his best showing of the season. He finished with six solo tackles and four assists — both season highs for Clark — as well as a critical forced fumble that provided a much-needed spark for the Ravens in the third quarter. On a second down play, Clark stripped running back Darwin Thompson of the football as teammate Jaylon Ferguson recovered at the Baltimore 31-yard line. This turnover set up a Ravens field goal which cut the Kansas City deficit to 27-13, making it a two-possession game.

Unfortunately for the Ravens, it was too little too late. While Baltimore mounted a comeback attempt, the Chiefs scored a touchdown early in the fourth quarter, putting the game just too far out of reach for Jackson and the Ravens.

Despite the loss, Clark showed his ability to step up and make big-time plays for the Ravens when they are in need of a momentum shift. Baltimore has a loaded secondary, which already consists of two Pro-Bowl cornerbacks in Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters. But Clark proved he can hang with them and be a key piece moving forward against the heavy passing attacks of the top contenders in the AFC.
