An armed gang threatened a family with weapons after breaking into their home in Chryston.
The shock incident took place at an address in Grayston Moor, to the north east of Glasgow, on Thursday night (February 18).
Police say the four unidentified men fled from the scene after seizing a four-figure sum of cash and travelled in a burgundy Citroen Picasso, later recovered by officers.
No-one was injured during the horrifying ordeal, however the victims are said to have been 'left quite shaken'.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
A statement published this afternoon advised: "Police in Lanarkshire are appealing for information following a robbery in Chryston.
"The incident happened around 7.50pm on Thursday, 18 February, 2021, at a property on Grayston Manor.
"Four unidentified men entered the property and threatened the occupants with weapons before stealing a four figure sum of cash. No one was hurt in the incident.
"The men are believed to have travelled in a burgundy Citroen Picasso which was later recovered by officers."
Detective Sergeant Lorraine Wilson, of Lanarkshire CID, commented: “This was a terrifying ordeal for those involved, who although not physically hurt, have been left quite shaken.
“I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident and may have noticed anything suspicious to please contact police.
“I would also ask anyone who may have seen a car matching the description in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch.”
