Thousands and thousands of years ago, in the Stone Age, Torak, a twelve year old boy, and his wolf companion are the only ones that can defeat the evil that stalks the lands. They have to travel all around, through forests, glaciers, seas, and all the most dangerous places possible.
First, they have to fight the great big killer bear that goes around destroying and killing. An illness comes next, and after that they have to go to some islands. At one point Torak become an outcast and persecuted. In the end, they have to defeat the Eagle Owl Mage. But everything is alright because Torak is not alone, he’s got Wolf and Renn next to him.
This collection of historical fantasy and adventure books are some of the best I have ever read. I really like the author, Michelle Paver, because before writing her books, she goes and studies all about the things she is going to write about. She studies wolves, killer whales, polar bears, and all kinds of birds. She also studied how people in those ages lived, hunting, the different clans, illnesses, etc. I think all this is a very important thing to do if you want to write a book, about so many years back.
