Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy to return to US cinemas for Batman's 80th anniversary

Christopher Nolan‘s Batman trilogy is set to return to US cinemas in honour of the caped crusader’s 80th anniversary.

Warner Bros is celebrating 80 years since Batman first appeared in the comics with a series of Imax screenings of Nolan’s films in five different cities.

Showings of Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008), and The Dark Knight Rises (2012) are set to commence on 30 March, with Nolan himself making an appearance in Los Angeles for a moderated Q&A discussion.

Screenings will then take place in New York City, San Francisco, Toronto, and Indianapolis. All screenings will be in the Imax 70mm format.

“Christopher Nolan broke new ground with the Dark Knight trilogy, and this is a rare chance for today’s audiences to experience these extraordinary films as they were meant to be seen,” Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros’s domestic distribution president, said.

“To have the added privilege of hearing Chris’s insights firsthand makes this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
