Christopher Jullien sends Odsonne Edouard Celtic transfer message as he makes bold prediction

Christopher Jullien says Odsonne Edouard can smash his way into France’s star-studded strikeforce – and does not need a move to do so.

The hitman is developing into a top-class operator in Glasgow, with 17 goals for Celtic already this season.

Another 11 have followed for his country in six games having burst into Sylvain Ripoll’s Under-21 set-up.

Edouard is attracting £30million interest from the likes of former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers at Leicester after helping clinch a last-32 spot in the Europa League.

Celtic are not letting him go anywhere at the moment and Jullien is convinced his team-mate can take his next step up the ladder while playing at Parkhead.

Les Bleus may be blessed with superstars such as Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann in their attacking department.

But the former Toulouse centre-back feels Edouard is capable of breaking into Didier Deschamps’ World Cup-winning squad.

Jullien said: “He could, why not? I think he could.

“The French team have a lot of good players and it’s one of the best teams in the world so it’s not easy.

“He has to work for it but in his mind he wants to and I’m sure if he works hard enough it will come, for sure.

“The French love Celtic and, with what we achieved in the first part of the season in the Europa League and so on, they follow us.

“Odsonne is now the best young striker of the French national scene so why not?

“Why not aspire to be a Celtic player in the French national team. That would be great.”
