Christopher Jullien sees Celtic light at the end of injury tunnel as Ange Postecoglou sets date for defender's return

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou expects defender Christopher Jullien to return to the squad after the international break.

The Frenchman has been sidelined for close to 10 months after injuring his knee against Dundee United on December 30.

The 28-year-old's recovery has been a painstaking process, but the centre-back is set to make his return next month.

Jullien will return to the squad along with winger James Forrest, who has been battling ankle problems since last season.

Postecoglou explained: "I think after the international window I'd expect both of them to hopefully be training with the first team. After that, it will depend on their levels of fitness and how quickly they adapt to what we want to do with our football."

Summer signing Giorgos Giakoumakis is likely to be in the Celtic squad for the first time in Thursday night's Premier Sports Cup clash with Raith Rovers.

However, Postecoglou will still be without captain Callum McGregor for the fixture.

He said: "Callum won't be back. He's not quite ready. Most of the squad will be the same make-up as the weekend. Giakoumakis is available - probably not to start but he'll be part of the squad."
