Christopher Jullien injury update as Celtic boss Neil Lennon explains French defender's absence

Celtic defender Christopher Jullien has a "slight" knee injury that means he misses today's clash with Hamilton Accies

The defender has been out for a lot of the season so far with injuries but his recent return has coincided with an upturn of form.

Manager Neil Lennon has admitted Hamilton 's plastic pitch is a factor in leaving the big defender out.

He said: "It’s just a slight knee problem from the cup final that’s been gnawing away, on this surface we didn’t want to take any chances."

The star is also still carrying a back complaint and the Hoops' management team have decided to leave nothing to chance.

The 27-year-old is expected to return for the match against Dundee United in midweek.

Speaking before the game, Lennon admitted the conditions would make the game even more difficult but he expects his side to adapt.

He said: "It’s difficult conditions but it’s a game we’re looking forward to.

"Mentality of the team is good, there’s a good atmosphere so we want to take that into the game today.

"Today the conditions will be difficult to play the type of football we want so we’ll have to adapt."
