Christopher Jullien closes in on Celtic switch as defender arrives in Scotland to seal £7million deal

Christopher Jullien has arrived in Scotland as he gets set to be unveiled as Celtic's first summer signing.

The towering Toulouse defender was exclusively pictured by Record Sport at Edinburgh Airport as he's poised to put pen to paper on a deal after the Hoops agreed a £7million move.

Jullien has been a busy man after leaving France on Thursday morning before heading to London for his Hoops medical. But he was all smiles as he made his way through security.

Now the 26-year-old has touched down on Scottish soil with the Parkhead club expected to confirm his capture on Friday.

Neil Lennon pinpointed a new central defender as a transfer priority and the Premiership champions are splashing the cash ahead of their Champions League first round qualifier against Sarajevo in less than a fortnight.

Clubs in England, Germany and Spain were also interested in the Frenchman with Celta Vigo reportedly making an offer.

But it appears that Celtic have won the race for the stopper who could form a partnership in the heart of Lennon's rearguard alongside rising star Kristoffer Ajer.

Celtic have been on the hunt for fresh faces after Dedryck Boyata joined Hertha Berlin and Filip Benkovic returned to Leicester after his loan spell.

Meanwhile, Lennon admits the club have several irons in the fire on the signing front.

He said: “It is an ongoing quest and it is hard.

“I’m talking about the market value of players and these deals change day by day.

“There are a lot of plates spinning at the moment and we are still exploring options as the window goes on.

“But we haven’t really pushed the button on anyone yet
