Christophe Galtier shares Celtic 'surprise' hopes as as he admits Lille change upheaval

Lille boss Christophe Galtier is hoping for no late surprises from Neil Lennon.

The French gaffer reckons he’s got his set-up fine-tuned for Thursday night's showdown against the Scottish champions and has drawn up a plan.

However, Galtier admits any unexpected alterations from Lennon may pose him an issue.

He said: “We have worked on our plans and, if my counterpart doesn’t change his, we know how we are going to play.

“Celtic were beaten in the last game by AC Milan, but it will be necessary that the players do not give up a centimetre if we are to get a performance to beat them.

“In this match, we have to show all the ingredients that a European tie requires.

“Celtic are used to dominating their matches and having control. We will need to be at our top level.”

Lille are joint-top of Ligue 1 with PSG, despite the fact £25 million hitman Jonathan David has failed to find the net.

But Galtier looks set to stick with the Canadian and added: “We have to trust him and we will. Everyone at the club will support him.

“Jonathan has my confidence and that of the other players to regain his level.

“There are a lot of expectations for him and with the price of the transfer, it’s like that.

“When an attacker lacks confidence, he needs the support of his coach and his team-mates.”
