Christmas wouldn't be the same without this woman and you can meet her in Nottingham

There's little doubt Christmas would not be the same if it wasn't for Hilary Audus - the animator, director and writer behind some of the season's most magical TV traditions.

The multi-talented filmmaker who worked on Yuletide classics The Snowman, Father Christmas, and The Snowman and The Snowdog will be in Nottingham tomorrow (December 4) as the very special guest of a festive animation evening.

Featuring short Christmassy films, old and new, and a free drink, the event will take place at Antenna, in Beck Street.

Starting at 6pm, the event finishes at 10pm with tickets priced £7 from eventbrite.co.uk.

Hilary will take to the stage at 7.30pm for a 90-minute talk about developing the script and being an animator on The Snowman and Father Christmas, and writing and directing The Snowman and The Snowdog.

She will take the audience through the development of the Christmas classics and the traditional animation techniques used in its production... which included lots of pencils.

The evening has been organised by Animorsels, the social arm of Nottingham animation studio, Bottletop.
