Just a week after Storm Arwen swept across the region, high winds and torrential rain were once again battering Manchester - and it left the city's big Christmas tree in a rather precarious position.
The bauble-festooned fir tree outside Manchester Cathedral was roped off by security tape after the winds tried their best to fell the festive feature at the weekend.
But the 20ft high tree made a stern effort not to topple over - leaving it in the rather contorted shape akin to a witch or wizard's hat on Sunday.
Others likened it to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Italian landmark known for its dramatic slant.

While some noticed the way the tree has bent in the wind has left it looking almost like a face with a gaping mouth and bauble for a nose.
The Christmas tree is part of the festive features in Cathedral Gardens in the city centre, which also hosts part of the Christmas Markets this year and Skate Manchester - the family-friendly ice rink.
Manchester Council's Christmas spokesman Pat Karney said workers would be out on Sunday attempting to get the tree back fully erect soon.
Cllr Karney said: "We will get it upright and in its proper position as soon as we can.
"The weather yesterday was really, really horrible and it looks like the tree has fallen victim to that."

The high winds and rains caused chaos across the region on Saturday - with The Lightwaves Festival at Salford Quays cancelled for the night and power switched off to the illuminations due to the extreme weather conditions.
Last weekend a towering 30ft Christmas tree came crashing down in Audlem, Cheshire, just hours after it was lit up in a ceremony attended by hundreds of families.

More miserable wintery weather is predicted across the week ahead, in what has been a gloomy start to December.
The Met Office has also just issued a yellow weather warning for snow across some parts of Greater Manchester on Tuesday.
Tuesday looks set to be 'very windy with gales likely and further rain and hill snow followed by showers'
And it's going to stay unsettled and cold on Wednesday and Thursday with more strong winds and showers.
