Christmas shoppers are being warned about a little known condition in many Irish stores when it comes to click and collect.
Many gift buyers will be still flocking to stores in person and online to ensure that they have their full list of shopping complete.
But few know that if you are slow in collecting your item, your purchase could be cancelled and you may end up with nothing.
Smyths, for example, will cancel any orders if it takes you longer than two days to pick up the product.
They say on their website: "If you do not collect your order within the indicated timeframe, your order will be automatically cancelled and you will receive an email confirming this order status."
Harvey Norman also ask customers to collect their items within four days or contact their chosen store to arrange a later date - however they do not say they will cancel the order.
Most stores have some terms and conditions with their click and collect services which are worth checking out before you buy.
