Christmas is nearly here and many of us will most likely be wanting to carry out some last-minute food shopping before December 25.
But supermarkets across the UK will close their stores at different times from Monday, December 23 until New Year's Day, meaning it can be hard trying to pick bits up.
Trying to pick up those last-minute items can often turn into a nightmare, so to make sure you don't get caught out over the festive season here's a list of all the major retailers' opening hours over Christmas.
Tesco opening hours
A spokesman said opening hours may vary across stores, so customers are advised to check the opening hours of their local store using the company's online store locator here.

Christmas Eve
- Extras, Superstores and Metro stores open usual time and close at 7pm
- Petrol stations shut an hour after the main store closes (if main store closes at 7pm). London petrol stations close at 10pm. Express stores close at 10pm
Christmas Day
- All stores and petrol filling stations closed
Boxing Day
- England, Scotland & Wales Extras, Superstores and Metro stores 9am to 6pm
- Northern Ireland Extras and Superstores 10am to 6pm
- Express stores 8am to 10pm and all petrol stations open 8am to 7pm
Friday 27th December
- Extras, Superstores and Metro stores open at 6am and close at usual closing times.

New Year’s Eve
- Extras, Superstores & Metro stores open usual time and close at 7pm.
- Express stores close at 10pm.

Thursday 2nd January (Hogmanay)
- Scotland Extras and Superstores open 9am - 6pm.

Asda opening hours
A spokesman confirmed the chain will have varying opening hours for their stores over the festive period.
However, large stores are likely to be shut on Christmas Day.

Be aware that they’re slightly different for England, Scotland and Wales, so it always pays to double check your local store using the supermarket’s online store finder.

Aldi opening hours
A spokesman confirmed to the Standard that Aldi stores will be open from 8am until 6pm on Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Stores will be back open on Friday, December 27, Saturday, December 28 and Monday December 30, from 8am until 8pm and on Sunday, December 29 from 10am until 4pm.
On New Year's Eve, stores will be open from 9am until 6pm, but will be closed on New Year's Day.
